INNOVATING THE APPAREL INDUSTRY BY OFFERING A RESOURCE EFFICIENT AND CLIMATE-SMART VALUE CHAIN MADE IN SWEDEN

WHY UNITEX

The fashion industry’s remarkable growth has come at a considerable cost to the environment and society, forcing brands to move towards change by implementing circular business models.

Since 2018 we have worked together with our partners to develop a value chain to innovate and challenge the apparel industry's traditional supply chain model. Today, Unitex facilitates a infrastructure for the transition from a linear to a circular model for apparel brands. We don’t have all the answers, but we’re putting our creativity to the test and actively building the world we want to see powered by our partners.

Less than half of used clothes are collected for reuse or recycling when they are no longer needed, and only 1 % are recycled into new clothes. 13 million items of clothing are sent to landfill every week.

Unitex's Four-Step Upcycling Process

At Unitex, we transform the old into the extraordinary. Our upcycling process redefines the life cycle of garments, contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry. Here's how we do it:

Receiving

We begin by carefully inspecting each garment we receive, evaluating its condition and potential for transformation.

Tagging

Each item is then tagged for identification, ensuring a tracked and organized upcycling process.

Designing

Our skilled team creatively redesigns the garments, infusing them with new style and purpose.

Dispatch

The final step sees these revitalized pieces prepared and sent off to start their new journey in sustainable fashion.
